Tasmania Police are searching for a motorcyclist who allegedly engaged in dangerous high-speed manoeuvres on the Midland Highway as they evaded officers this afternoon.
The incident occurred around 1:55pm when police observed a black motorcycle travelling at excessive speed northbound near Oatlands.
When officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, the rider reportedly accelerated away, performing several dangerous overtaking manoeuvres by passing vehicles on the left-hand side.
Police last spotted the motorcycle continuing northbound through Campbell Town before losing sight of the vehicle.
The rider was described as wearing a black top, black backpack, light coloured trousers and light coloured shoes.
