Tasmania Police are investigating after a body was found in the water near the Bellerive jetty this morning.
Officers were called to Hobart’s eastern shore around 8am following reports of a person in the water.

Police say the body has not yet been formally identified and the investigation is still in its early stages.
“At this stage, there is no evidence to suggest suspicious circumstances,” police said.
The area has been cordoned off and people are being asked to avoid the site.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 131 444 and quote ESCAD 46-29082025,” police said.
