A shooting victim turned up at a Tasmanian fire station seeking help after what is suspected to be a targeted attack north of Hobart.
The 36-year-old “self-presented” at the Bridgewater fire station on Sunday afternoon with a wound to his upper leg, a broken ankle and facial lacerations.
His injuries were serious but not life-threatening, police said.
He has been receiving treatment at the Royal Hobart Hospital since Sunday.
Police believe the injuries were the result of a “targeted incident” between people known to each other.

“Investigations indicate the alleged assault and wounding occurred in the Pontville area earlier on Sunday,” a spokesperson said.
On Tuesday, detectives searched properties in Chigwell and Bridgewater, seizing three motorcycles and an allegedly stolen semi-automatic .22 calibre rifle with a sawn-off barrel.
A 31-year-old Glenorchy man and a 20-year-old Chigwell man were arrested and detained for court.
They face a series of charges including possession of stolen firearms, possession of a shortened firearm and recklessly discharging a firearm.

They are also facing wounding and assault charges.
Two other Chigwell men, aged 54 and 29, were arrested on separate firearms and breach-of-court-order charges.
Anyone with information or who saw a silver Mazda CX5 near Pontville or Bridgewater on Sunday is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
