Hobart police have seized approximately $140,000 worth of allegedly stolen property following searches in the suburbs of Warrane and Mornington.
The successful recovery operation began when Crime Stoppers Tasmania received “detailed information” about the stolen items.
Investigators subsequently executed search warrants at properties in both suburbs.
Sergeant Jamie Hart said a “significant amount” of the recovered property has been linked to previously reported burglaries and shoplifting incidents throughout the greater Hobart area.

It included food, toiletries, perfume, alcohol and other household items.
As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Warrane woman has been charged with possession of stolen property.

She was granted bail and will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court in June.
Sergeant Hart called the outcome a “perfect example” of how anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers can lead to meaningful results.
“Crime Stoppers don’t need your personal details, just the information you have to report for police to investigate,” he said.
