St Patrick’s College in Launceston’s south-west was briefly locked down today after police responded to a reported disturbance involving a group of men.
Tasmania Police said officers were called to Peel Street West in Prospect Vale shortly before 1:15pm on Wednesday.
Those involved had left the scene before police arrived and were known to each other, police said.
“Nobody was physically injured during the incident and no threats were made to the wider community,” police said.
“A nearby school enacted its lockdown procedures for a short period while police responded to the incident.”
Two people are assisting officers with their inquiries and investigations are ongoing.
“Anyone with information about a disturbance reportedly involving a group of men … should contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800 333 000,” police said.
