A 76-year-old man remains missing after failing to return from a bushwalk near Launceston on Sunday afternoon.
Peter Willoughby is thought to be lost in bushland about two kilometres from Hollybank, a forest reserve north-east of the city.
Police are combing the Excalibur Road area on foot this morning while a rescue helicopter searches from above.
Authorities say Willoughby has a medical condition that could leave him disoriented.
He was wearing a dark blue jumper, blue jeans and sneakers when he vanished.
The search is focusing on dense bushland in the area, with crews working to locate him as quickly as possible given his age and medical needs.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen Willoughby or has information about his whereabouts to come forward immediately.
“If you’ve seen Peter, please call police on 131 444,” they said.
