Two men have been charged after police seized more than 12 kilograms of cannabis during a series of searches in George Town.
The searches were conducted over a four-day period between March 28 and March 31, leading to multiple drug trafficking charges against two local men.
A 50-year-old George Town man was arrested after one of the searches and charged with several drug-related offences, including trafficking in a controlled substance.
In separate incidents, police searched a 51-year-old George Town man twice within three days and allegedly found large amounts of cannabis on both occasions.
He is now facing a string of charges, including possession of a controlled plant product, possession of a controlled drug and trafficking in a controlled substance.
Police say the two men are “not linked” to each other and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court at a later date.
