Police seize dirt bike from unlicensed teenager at White Beach

An unlicensed teenage boy is facing several charges after he was caught riding a dirt bike on a beach on the Tasman Peninsula.

The 17-year-old will be summonsed to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court tonight on charges of evading police and other offences following the incident just out of Nubeena.

Police say officers attempted to stop the Honda dirt bike, which was reportedly travelling at speed along White Beach where pedestrians were walking on Friday.

The boy is accused of ignoring police and riding off.

A short time later, officers located the motorcycle in the White Beach Caravan Park along with the young rider.

The bike has since been seized by police for 28 days.
