The YouGov poll commissioned by ACM shows White leading on a two-party-preferred basis with 56% compared to Liberal candidate Susie Bower’s 44%.

The Greens secured 13%, One Nation 4.4%, and independents showing strong support at 9.3%.

White’s strong performance suggests the traditionally marginal seat may be shifting towards Labor.

In response to the poll data, Tasmanian Liberal Senator Jonathon Duniam has defended the chances of their candidate Susie Bower.

“Susie Bower has a proven track record when it comes to actually campaigning hard and giving the people of Lyons the voice they need. We came within around 800 votes at the last election and Susie’s been campaigning full-time virtually since that last election,” Duniam said today.

“I think the people of Lyons know exactly what they are getting when it comes to the two candidates before them”.
