Power out for 2,000+ after pole fire in Blackmans Bay

Power has been restored to most affected customers.

EARLIER – 4:30 PM:
Power is out for thousands across Tasmania’s south after a pole fire in Blackman’s Bay this afternoon.

Police have closed Roslyn Ave while firefighters attend the fire which TasNetworks say has knocked out power for over 2000 customers across Blackmans Bay, Huntingfield, Howden, Kingston, Margate and Tinderbox.

The road is expected to remain closed and power off for some time.
