Premier Jeremy Rockliff has unveiled his newest tattoo, a flannel flower design with a personal connection to his long work with mental health support services.
Rockliff shared details of his new ink on social media today, revealing the design incorporates the Lifeline symbol as a tribute to the organisation.
“I’ve picked up a touch more ink. It’s a Flannel flower,” Rockliff said.
“The Flannel is native to Australia and is known for being able to survive through all kinds of harsh conditions that our landscape throws up.”

He explained the flower is Australia’s national symbol for mental health and resilience, making it a meaningful choice for the tattoo.
“I added the Lifeline symbol into the flower as a tribute to an organisation that’s been very close to my heart,” he said.

Rockliff’s connection with Lifeline spans nearly three decades, beginning when he was in his early twenties working on his family farm at Sassafras.
His concern for those struggling around him, particular young males in rural areas, led him to train as a Lifeline counsellor, eventually becoming a trainer and chairman of the board.
His extensive service with the organisation has been recognised with Life Membership of Lifeline North West in 2006 and Lifeline Tasmania in 2019.
