Premier Jeremy Rockliff has revealed he requested the deletion of an “inappropriate” social media post from the Tasmanian Liberals’ accounts that mocked female Labor MPs.
The controversial post, which appeared on both Facebook and X, showed federal Assistant Minister Rebecca White with Labor MLC Sarah Lovell at the Taste of Summer festival.
It was captioned: “When you’re tanked at the Taste and someone suggests sexually rating your colleagues.”
The post referenced a recent controversy where Labor MPs White, Lovell and Ella Haddad were were overheard playing a ‘shoot, shag, or marry’ game about male Liberal politicians at the festival on December 30.

When questioned about the post today, Rockliff confirmed his involvement in its removal.
“I saw the post and I asked for it to be taken down,” Rockliff said.

When asked directly if he requested the deletion, Rockliff responded with a simple “yes” before describing the content as “inappropriate.”
The Premier declined to identify who had published the post but indicated steps would be taken to prevent similar incidents.
“There will be matters that will ensure that these matters don’t happen again,” he said.
He suggested political representatives should focus on “the real issues that matter” rather than engaging in such controversies.

“I don’t want to go back to the matters concerning the Taste of Summer. They’ve been well canvassed.”
“What the Tasmanian community expect is for their political representatives to be strongly advocating for their community,” he said.
Labor has called on the Liberals to focus on other matters, including clarifying the $120,494 in taxpayer-funded legal fees accrued by minister Madeleine Ogilvie between January 2023 and November 2025.
