Queen Mary has made a brief visit to Tasmania for the first time since she ascended the throne.

Mary, who was born in Hobart and grew up in Taroona, became Queen of Denmark in January of this year following the abdication of Margrethe II.

Those at the wedding told Pulse that Mary was in great sprits, happily chatting and appearing in personal photos with other guests.

The 52-year-old then flew to Sydney, where she was pictured this week walking along the sands at Bronte Beach, joined by her youngest daughter Princess Josephine, 13, and friend Amber Petty.

The Danish Royal Family shared this official picture of Mary and Frederik with all their children in Hobart in December 2022

Queen Mary’s husband, King Frederik, did not attend the trip.

Mary last visited Tasmania in December 2023, just weeks before Queen Margrethe II announced her abdication.
