The Tasmanian Wine Festival is set to return to Hobart’s Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens this weekend with a record number of local wineries.
Over 35 wineries will be showcasing their best drops at the event, which has expanded its footprint in the gardens to accommodate the growing number of participants.
Luke Schlenner from Tasmanian Wine Festival said that while it is a busy long weekend in Hobart, the interest in the festival has been overwhelming.
“The VIP area is sold out across all sessions. We have capped numbers to ensure a relaxing and enjoyable event for all wine lovers with no lines just delicious food, drink and great entertainment,” he said.
“We’re so happy with ticket sales and encourage anyone wanting to get a last minute ticket to get in quick or they will miss out on what will be an amazing event showcasing Tasmania’s best wine.”
The festival will feature live music from Melbourne Ska Orchestra, tastings from local food and wine producers and a pre-event Sunday morning Pilates class in the gardens.
Shelley Bickerstaff from Frogmore Creek said the winery has been involved in the event since its inception five years ago and it is a pleasure to continue to support it.
“We have seen Tas Wine Fest grow and evolve into something truly special. It is such a beautiful celebration of Tasmanian vineyard, our world-class wine makers complimented by a curated food selection and live entertainment in the stunning backdrop of the Botanical Gardens,” she said.
The festival is supported by the City of Hobart and the Tasmanian Government through Events Tasmania.
