A solo bushwalker spent more than five hours stranded in a Tasmanian national park after losing her way on a trail on Friday night.
The 33-year-old woman called emergency services at 7:45pm after becoming disoriented in Douglas Apsley National Park on the east coast.
Police search and rescue teams provided directions over the phone while crews made their way to the remote location.
The rescue helicopter located her shortly after 1am on Saturday, winching her to safety and flying her back to the carpark.
She was uninjured.

Tasmania Police used the incident to urge bushwalkers to prepare properly before heading into the bush.
“Police advise bushwalkers against walking alone and to ensure they carry sufficient warm clothing and food and emergency communication devices,” a spokesperson said.
“A two-way messaging emergency device is preferred.”
Police also reminded hikers to research their route, check weather forecasts and tell someone their plans before setting out.
“Be prepared to turn back or change plans if severe weather is forecast or eventuates during the walk,” the spokesperson said.
“Making the decision to push on when you should turn back can put you in danger.”
