The top reasons Tasmanians are visiting Medicare Urgent Care Clinics have been revealed.
Data from the Department of Health indicates that between July 2023 and November 2024, over 55,000 presentations were recorded at the state’s bulk-billed clinics.

Leading the list of reasons for visits are respiratory illnesses, such as chest infections.
Skin conditions and infections rank second, followed closely by ear, nose and throat issues, including earaches, ear infections and blocked ears.
Tasmania currently has five urgent care clinics.
Three are in Greater Hobart, with one each in Launceston and Devonport.
The newest clinic, located in Bridgewater, opened late last year.
