Investigation underway after Hobart crash claims life of 54-year-old woman

A woman has died following a two-vehicle crash on the outskirts of Hobart this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Richmond Road and Boyes Street at Dulcot just before 3:30pm on Friday after reports a truck and car had collided.

The 54-year-old driver of the car passed away at the scene, while the truck driver was uninjured.

Crash investigators remain at the scene and are looking into the cause of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

“Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this difficult time,” police said.

Earlier: A person has reportedly sustained “serious injuries” following a crash between a truck and a car near Richmond this afternoon.

Police say the crash occurred near the intersection of Boyes Street and Richmond Road at Dulcot, halfway between Richmond and Cambridge.

The road is currently blocked to all traffic.

“Motorists are asked to avoid the area until the scene is cleared,” a police spokesperson said.
