Two prominent Sandy Bay organisations are joining forces to breathe new life into a popular community market while raising vital funds for a local charity.

The Rotary Club of Sandy Bay and the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania will host the annual Trash & Treasure Market on Sunday April 27, with proceeds supporting the Hobart Women’s Shelter.

The event will run from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, featuring pre-loved goods, homemade treats and family activities.

Marion Cooper, a member of the Rotary Club of Sandy Bay and past Commodore of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, described the market as a “true highlight on the Sandy Bay calendar.”

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for stall holders to declutter, buyers to discover unique items, and most importantly, come together as a community to support important initiatives like the Hobart Women’s Shelter,” Cooper said.

“The setting at the Royal Yacht Club adds a special touch, combining community spirit with the beauty of our waterfront.”

Beyond browsing market stalls, attendees will be able to enjoy homemade cakes and biscuits, enter raffles with the chance to win prizes and purchase freshly cooked barbecue food prepared by the Sandy Bay Rotary Team.

Children will be entertained with face painting activities throughout the day.
