Emergency services have launched a search operation for a missing bushwalker in Tasmania’s remote south-west wilderness.
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter has been deployed to the Farmhouse Creek area after authorities were notified about the disappearance early this morning.
Police received notification around 8am today that a 28-year-old man had become separated from his bushwalking companion in the rugged terrain.
The missing man was last seen approximately 9am on Friday on the Eastern Arthur Range Traverse near the Lake Sydney Track junction.
Despite being described as an experienced bushwalker, the man was not carrying a personal locator beacon.
Fellow bushwalkers in the area are being asked to remain vigilant.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact them on 131444, quoting ESCAD reference 000072-19042025.
