A search operation has been launched for a fishing vessel that failed to return from a trip in Tasmania’s north-west.
The vessel departed the Montagu boat ramp at 5:30pm on Saturday for a fishing trip near Robbins Island and the Stony Point area.

The group of what is believed to be four people was expected to return to a campground at Montagu but never arrived.
“Concerned relatives called police just after 8am this morning,” police said.
A rescue helicopter and marine rescue vessels have been deployed to search the area around Robbins Island.
The search is ongoing.
