A man has been shot in the leg at a home in Hobart’s northern suburbs, marking the second firearm incident in southern Tasmania in recent days.
Tasmania Police have not said whether the two shootings are linked.
Officers were called to a property on Emily Place in Gagebrook just before 3:20pm on Monday after reports that a firearm had been discharged.
Police said the man suffered a “non-life-threatening injury to his leg”.
No one was at the address when officers arrived and a crime scene was declared.

Police believe the incident was “targeted” and involved people “known to each other”.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw a person riding a green and black road bike near Emily Place around the time of the shooting on Monday to contact police.
The incident came a day after a 20-year-old man was allegedly shot in the foot at a home in Bridgewater.
Police said four men arrived at the Taylor Crescent property around 3.30pm on Sunday in a white Ford Ranger and a white Ford Focus XR5, before an altercation broke out inside the house.
The victim sustained a serious injury from a single shotgun blast.
Police previously said that incident is also believed to be isolated and involved parties known to each other.
Anyone with information about either incident is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
