A mad rush for tickets has continued as the Hobart Hurricanes prepare for the BBL Final against the Sydney Thunder at home on Monday night.

Around 2,500 tickets were released for sale at 10am this morning, after the allocation last Wednesday was quickly exhausted.

Fans were queuing outside Ninja Stadium in Bellerive early today, eager to secure their place for the highly anticipated clash.

It is understood some fans had arrived at the stadium as early as 5am, waiting five hours before the ticket booth opened.

Thousands were also reportedly stuck in online Ticketek queues in hopes of scoring tickets.

The game has now officially sold out, but Cricket Tasmania says those who weren’t able to get their hands on a ticket won’t miss out on the action.

A number of watch party sites have been locked in, allowing Tasmanians without tickets to be part of the Hurricanes atmosphere.

Princes Wharf 1 in Hobart, the Silverdome in Launceston and Market Square in Devonport will all be showing the game live.

“These events will be family friendly, with various activities to celebrate Tassie hosting the final and of course, the Hurricanes’ fantastic season,” Sports Minister Nick Duigan said.

PW1 will open to the public with the livestream on the forecourt beginning from 6pm. Seats, bean bags and shade will be available.

Cricket Tasmania say people are welcome to bring their own comfortable camping seat, and there will be a few food vans on site selling food and beverages.

Launceston’s Silverdome will be accessible from 6:30 pm, with some food and beverages available for purchase.

Market Square in Devonport will also host a screening but space is strictly limited, so people are advised to bring a chair or blanket to sit on.

For those heading to the game at Ninja Stadium, free Derwent Ferry services will be running every 15 minutes from the Hobart waterfront – in conjunction with a park and ride service at the Domain.

“I encourage everyone to take a walk through the city, grab a drink and then jump on the ferry to the game,” Duigan said.
