Man killed after car crash in West Moonah

A 38-year-old man has died following a crash at Second Avenue in West Moonah.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene at about 6:45pm on Friday.

Authorities say initial inquiries indicate the man was travelling south on Second Avenue in a silver Ford Ranger utility when it crashed into another vehicle.

Early indications are that a suspected medical episode may have led to the crash.

The occupants of the other vehicle, being a 45-year-old woman, and 10-year-old boy received minor injuries and remain in hospital receiving treatment.

Second Avenue remained closed for several hours while the crash was investigated.

Earlier: A serious crash in West Moonah has left one person with significant injuries.

Police shut down the intersection of Second and Twelfth avenues after two vehicles reportedly collided head-on earlier this evening.

One person has sustained serious injuries, police said.

The extent of their injuries and current condition have not been disclosed.

Second Avenue remains closed while investigates investigate the cause of the crash.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area.
