Seven brigades called to battle large shed fire south of Hobart

Seven fire brigades are responding to a large structure fire on the Channel Highway south of Hobart tonight.

Firefighters were called to a property in Margate, about five minutes south of Kingston, just after 10pm on Wednesday.

When crews arrived, they found a large shed – about 12 metres by 5 metres – fully engulfed in flames, the Tasmania Fire Service said.

It is not known what was inside the shed.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Brigades from Kingston, Margate, Hobart, Sandfly, Snug, Taroona and Mount Nelson are attending the blaze.
