Tasmanians in the south are being warned of damaging winds as a cold front approaches the state.
The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for parts of the Western, Upper Derwent Valley, South East and Central Plateau forecast districts.
Strong westerly winds averaging 50 to 60km/h with damaging gusts of around 100km/h are likely from early Wednesday afternoon.
The winds are expected to ease below warning thresholds late in the evening.

“A cold front extending from a deep low-pressure system south of Tasmania will cross the state late Wednesday evening,” the Bureau said.
“Vigorous westerly winds will bring damaging wind gusts to parts of southern Tasmania during Wednesday afternoon and early evening.”
The weather bureau predicts the winds will impact New Norfolk, Bushy Park, Geeveston, Dover and Huonville.
