Beachgoers at Seven Mile Beach have been warned to exercise caution following a shark sighting close to shore this morning.
The unidentified shark was observed approximately 150 metres offshore along the Esplanade area of the popular swimming spot.

Police issued a public advisory shortly after the sighting was reported by a witness.

“[The] public are advised that there has been a shark sighting 150m off shore off the Esplanade Seven Mile Beach,” the advisory read.
Swimmers are being advised to maintain awareness of their surroundings.
