Sheffield’s General Store has closed its doors after 16 years, with the owner citing health concerns as the reason.
Lloyd Williams announced the closure on Sunday, saying he’d be locking up for the final time that evening.
To clear out his remaining stock, Williams held a 50% off sale, which attracted many locals who were sad to see him go.
The shop, located on Main Street, has been rented by Williams since it first opened.
It is not yet clear what the landlord will do with the property, but locals are hoping it will be snapped up by another business owner looking to set up shop in the popular tourist town.
The store prided itself on being “fully independent” and home to “friendly old fashioned service”.
The shop was located across the road from an IGA Everyday.
