Significant delays across Hobart as crane shuts part of Davey Street

Hobart’s city centre has ground to a standstill this afternoon as planned works on Davey Street cause major disruptions.

Police are warning of slow traffic flow in the vicinity of Franklin Square due to planned crane works in the area.

“Police advise motorists to avoid the area if possible,” they said.

Commuters have reported significant delays from the Tasman Bridge onwards, with delays exceeding 40 minutes

The works are scheduled to continue until 7pm this evening.
