Singaporean authorities have cleared the Spirit of Tasmania I to sail after detaining the ferry earlier this week over safety concerns.
The all-clear means the vessel can now head back to Tasmania after receiving maintenance and a series of upgrades.
TT-Line said the delay was due to surveyors signing off on “a number of minor matters” overnight.
Pulse understands those issues were related to fire detection systems and visitor logs.
The ferry departed Singapore overnight and is due to arrive in Australia on Friday, August 8.

“Immediately after arriving, Spirit of Tasmania II will enter a previously planned wet dock in berth four west Devonport, while Spirit I returns to service,” a TT-Line spokesperson said.
“Both vessels are scheduled to return to the Bass Strait run on Sunday, August 11 in preparation for the peak visitor season.”
Meanwhile, the brand-new Spirit of Tasmania IV is also making its way to Australia on its maiden voyage from Scotland.
While it cannot yet enter service, it is expected to arrive in Hobart for fitting out by the end of August.
