A house in St Leonards is ablaze this afternoon, with emergency services battling flames and thick black smoke pouring from the property.
Fire crews from Launceston and Ravenswood brigades are on the scene at St Leonards Road and are working to bring the fire under control.
The blaze appears to be concentrated in the front left section of the house, with bright orange flames shooting through what appears to be a window.
“Crews arrived to find the house on fire and are working to bring [it] under control,” the Tasmania Fire Service said.

Police have warned motorists that traffic is being affected by smoke in St Leonards Road and Abels Hill Road.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the scene is cleared,” police said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
