A haze of smoke is settling across Greater Hobart today as multiple planned burns are conducted throughout the south.
The Tasmania Fire Service has confirmed several fuel reduction and private burns are currently registered across the greater Hobart area.
A TFS spokesperson said activity has intensified with additional burning operations at Flagstaff Gully in Warrane today, along with a burn at Cobbs Hill in Brighton.
The operations will take a couple of days to complete and will be patrolled for a week afterward.

The Flagstaff Gully Road and Cobbs Hill burns are part of the state-wide Fuel Reduction Program aimed at reducing bushfire risk to protect lives and communities.
The Flagstuff Gully Road burn will cover approximately 125 hectares, with smoke expected to persist for several days depending on wind conditions.

Public access to these areas will be restricted during burning operations, with residents advised to remain well clear of burn sites until safety checks are completed.
While the fire intensity will be low, the burns will generate flames, smoke and ash, creating potential health concerns for vulnerable residents.
The TFS has advised people with medical conditions to have a personal plan for avoiding smoke exposure.
Health authorities recommend those with respiratory conditions stay indoors with windows and doors closed where possible until smoke clears.
