A warning has been issued by the Clarence City Council after a resident spotted a snake slithering along a popular beach in the municipality.
The council are urging people to exercise caution during the warmer months after the snake was seen on Seven Mile Beach.
“Snakes love summer too,” the council said, alongside a video of the snake just metres from the surf.
“Please be aware and exercise caution as during warmer weather many native species are on the move and could be out enjoying the same natural environment in Clarence that we humans do.”

In the event of a snakebite, people are advised to immediately call 000 and follow the advice of the operator.
