Tasmanians have been treated to snow across parts of the state’s highlands, a welcome change from the extreme heat of earlier in the week.
The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded light snow flurries at the Great Lake, where temperatures are hovering around zero degrees.
Kunanyi/Mt Wellington also dipped to a chilly 1 degree, with snow still expected to fall above 1,200 metres later on Saturday afternoon.
The Great Lake Hotel at Miena reported snowfall starting Saturday morning.
“Today we were gifted with great big snow flakes, cooler conditions and an excellent reason to light our big log fires,” the hotel shared online.
