A Somerset man has been accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of jewellery during a burglary in Launceston.
The 40-year-old faced court yesterday on multiple charges connected to the April 18 incident and other alleged offences.
Police have charged the man with three counts of burglary, one count of trespass, four counts of evading police and six counts of driving without a licence.
Investigators allege the jewellery store burglary resulted in the theft of items valued at around $20,000.

Police have not released details about how the break-in occurred.
Tasmania Police said investigations into the jewellery store incident are continuing, with authorities still working to recover the stolen items.

“Anyone with information relating to the whereabouts of the stolen jewellery is encouraged to contact police on 131 444,” a police spokesperson said.
