Sorell Council sees a familiar face reclaim vacant councillor position

Sorell officially has a new councillor after a seat became available at the table following the resignation of another last month.

Former councillor Meg Brown left the Greater Hobart Council in November as she was relocating away from the area and became ineligible to serve.

After a recent recount of six eligible candidates, Beth Nichols was re-elected, having previously served a term from 2018, with Ben Shaw closely trailing behind.

The Tasmanian Electoral Commission say Nichols will serve until the 2026 elections.
