South Hobart man accused of shooting teenager to remain in custody

A Tasmanian man accused of shooting a teenager in the back during an alleged home invasion has made his second court appearance.

Noah Wrigley, 25, faced the Hobart Magistrates Court via videolink on Friday.

Ha is facing charges of causing grievous bodily harm, possessing a firearm without a licence and failing to ensure the safekeeping of a firearm.

Wrigley did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to reappear via videolink on February 23.

Police allege Wrigley fired an unregistered 12-gauge shotgun at a 17-year-old who was among a group of five males attempting to force their way into his South Hobart home about 1:20am on January 12.

Police have previously said they believe the incident may have stemmed from a road rage altercation two days earlier.

Three other teenagers have since been charged with attempted aggravated burglary over the alleged home invasion.

An 18-year-old from Berriedale, a 17-year-old from the greater Hobart area and a 19-year-old from Mount Stuart are due to appear in court on April 13.
