The South Hobart man did not enter a plea.

Police allege Wrigley fired an unregistered shotgun at a 17-year-old who was among a group of five males attempting to force their way into his Syme Street home about 1:20am on Monday.

The teenager remains in a critical but stable condition after undergoing surgery at the Royal Hobart Hospital.

Detective Inspector David Gill said earlier this week the group was believed to have arrived at the property intending to commit an unlawful act themselves.

He said the teen’s associates drove him to hospital and left him there.

Police believe a road rage incident two days earlier may have triggered the confrontation.
