Stolen firearms and fraudulent IDs found after raid of Invermay home

Two stolen shotguns were uncovered during the police raid

A man from Mole Creek has been charged with multiple firearms and property offences following a raid in Invermay yesterday that uncovered two stolen shotguns.

The 45-year-old was arrested on Tuesday after police found the stolen and altered firearms, ammunition and fraudulent Tasmanian licences at a property.

He is also facing a trafficking charge related to a separate incident in Newstead in January 2024, where police seized a quantity methylamphetamine.

The man has been held in custody and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court today.

The raid occurred in Invermay yesterday morning

Firearms offences include possession of stolen firearms, possession of a shortened firearm and possessing a firearm without the appropriate licence category.

Property and bail breach charges have also been laid.
