Flash flooding has hit parts of Greater Hobart this evening, with authorities warning motorists to take extra care.
The sudden downpour began just after 6pm, causing water to flow over Risdon Road at the rivulet near the soccer grounds.

Sandy Bay Road was also affected by the storm, with stormwater drains unable to cope with the large volume of water.
Images from the area show water bubbling up from the ground and flowing across the road, coming dangerously close to local shops.
The wet weather has also led to several car crashes, including one involving a vehicle that struck a power pole on Gordons Hill Road in Lindisfarne and another in Buckland.
