Dozens of Tasmanians have taken to social media to question a ‘strange’ string of lights which crossed Tassie’s night sky last night.

The lights were from a new train of Starlink internet satellites, launched by SpaceX recently.

The recent launch added another batch of satellites to founder Elon Musk’s growing network, which was visible from Tasmania as they prepare to move to their operational positions.

The Starlink satellite train is expected to pass again tonight at 9:14 pm (Tasmanian time).

The train will be visible for approximately 4 minutes, travelling west to north.
