The Tasmania Devils have demolished Frankston 145 to 67 in their first away match since joining the VFL competition.
The game was played at Kinetic Stadium in Frankston, with Tasmanian fans making the trip from the island to watch the team, while Tassie expats in Melbourne also made their way to the ground.
Captain Robbie Fox marked his return after missing the opening two rounds with injury, helping maintain the Devils’ perfect start to their inaugural season.
“I’m never 100% coming back from injury, but I’m pretty good so I think I’ve done well,” Fox said yesterday before flying out of Hobart.

“I probably could have easily played last week, but with my age and injury history, I’m going to be safe.”
The Devils are celebrating their unbeaten record, despite being a brand new team still building chemistry.

Before the match, vice-captain Jye Menzie acknowledged Frankston’s home ground advantage would test their perfect record.
“It’s going to be a tough, hostile environment. They’re very vocal, very loud,” Menzie told Pulse.
He hoped Tasmania supporters would make the trip to counter the home crowd.
“If we can get as many Tassie Devil fans there as possible, it would be great,” he said.

Former Sydney Swans AFL player turned Devil Caleb Mitchell said the team’s early success had exceeded expectations.
“To start the year 2-0 when we haven’t even played footy with each other is something that we’re really proud of,” Mitchell told Pulse earlier this week.
He said joining the Tasmania Devils had reinvigorated his career after being delisted.
“Obviously, after being delisted, it was probably my last opportunity to have another crack at AFL,” he said.

“It’s given me a real sense of drive and purpose. It’s been the best decision I could have made.”
The Devils will next face Carlton at NINJA Stadium in Hobart on Saturday, April 25.
