Tasmania Devils home VFL games to air on Seven Tasmania and 7plus

Seven Tasmania will broadcast all Devils home games starting March 21

Tasmanian football fans will receive unprecedented television coverage when the Tasmania Devils enter the VFL, with all 10 Devils home games to be shown on Seven Tasmania and 7plus Sport nationally.

Seven Network and Sports Entertainment Group (SEG) are partnering to broadcast all home matches.

The Devils kick off their campaign on March 21 against Coburg at North Hobart Oval.

It will be Tasmania’s first VFL season since 2008 and serves as a stepping stone to their historic AFL debut in 2028.

SEN Tasmania will provide radio coverage of all home and away matches through SEN Tassie 1629am into Hobart and SENTrack 1611am into Launceston and Devonport, plus streaming on the SEN app.

SEG chief executive Craig Hutchison said the partnership would deliver unprecedented VFL coverage for Tasmanians.

“The Devils have already captured the hearts and imagination of Tasmanian and broader AFL fans alike,” he said.

Seven Network’s commercial director and head of sport Renee Quirk said fans could finally watch their team take the field after years of waiting.

“Fans can finally cheer on the Devils each week and watch the next generation of Tasmanian talent in action, live and free on Seven and 7plus,” she said.

“We look forward to working closely with SEN to bring every game of the side’s inaugural season to passionate viewers in Tasmania, while also making each match available nationally on 7plus.”

AFL executive general manager of finance, broadcast and infrastructure Matthew Chun said the expanded coverage would showcase the VFL to a broader national audience.

“We are thrilled to be expanding the broadcast coverage of the Smithy’s VFL,” he said.

Tasmania Football Club CEO Brendon Gale said the team was “thrilled to see the investment in broadcast for this year’s VFL season and will work closely with our broadcast partners to ensure it is a huge success”.

“The announcement of this coverage is positive news for our brand, our identity, our partners, our members and our fans, all of whom can now stay connected to our game throughout the season,” he said.
