The Tasmania Devils are hoping for another sellout crowd this weekend when they play their inaugural VFL match in Launceston, with tickets selling fast for the historic fixture.
Devils officials say ticket sales have been “really good” ahead of Saturday’s game against Port Melbourne at UTAS Stadium, which has a capacity of just over 8,500.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be playing in Launceston this week,” Chief Marketing Officer Kathryn McCann told Pulse.
“We’ve had good pick up on the ticket sales.”

“It’s obviously our first game in Launceston and the weather forecast is looking fantastic.”
“So hoping that we’ll continue to get really good pick up.”

Officials said it could be a sellout, to match last week’s round one sellout at North Hobart Oval.
The Devils have positioned themselves as Tasmania’s statewide team, with plans to play matches across the state throughout the season.
A game is scheduled for Penguin’s Dial Park in July.
“We’re really proud of the fact that we represent the whole of Tasmania,” McCann said.

“We are looking forward to taking the Devils to all the regions.”
Several players from northern Tasmania will feature in the Launceston match, giving local players the chance to play in front of home crowds.
“We’ve got athletes from all over the state that’ll be taking the field in their respective hometowns or home communities,” McCann said.
The Devils v Port Melbourne match will be played at 12:05pm and will be shown live on Channel 7 and Kayo from 12pm.
