The Tasmania Devils’ inaugural VFL match is close to a sell-out, with only a handful of tickets remaining for the historic clash with Coburg.
Chief marketing officer Kathryn McCann told Pulse that walk-up sales on the day are unlikely.
“We’re encouraging everyone to purchase their tickets today, as there will likely be no ticket purchases at the gates,” she said on Friday.
The match at North Hobart Oval will be general admission only, with fans encouraged to arrive early to secure the best seats and soak up the atmosphere.

North Hobart Oval’s maximum capacity has been limited at 11,135 spectators following an independent assessment.
Experts determined the crowd limit based on modern safety standards, including emergency exits and evacuation times.

Historically, the venue held over 24,000 spectators for TFL grand finals in the 1970s, with a record of 24,968 in 1979.
While keeping some details under wraps, McCann said players will run onto the field through a special banner marking Tasmania’s return to the VFL.
“The banner makes a nice statement about the re-entry of Tasmania into the VFL,” she said.
The much-anticipated team song will also be debuted to the crowd on the day.

“We will release the song before first bounce,” McCann said. “And they’ll sing the song afterwards if the Devils win.”
Fresh merchandise will also be available for purchase at the ground.
“New merchandise has arrived and will be on sale, including the brand new jumpers,” she said.
The club has planned extensive pre-match entertainment, including appearances from past players and performances from a cheer squad.

Weather conditions are expected to be ideal for the historic occasion.
“The weather forecast looks fantastic, we encourage everyone to have a look at the match day guide on the website for all the details,” McCann said.
The Devils have suffered a blow ahead of the match, with captain Robbie Fox ruled out as he continues to recover from a calf injury.
Jye Menzie will captain the side in his place for the clash, which starts at 12:05pm.
