Tasmania Football Club has released the tender for its High Performance Centre, a crucial facility ahead of the team’s AFL and AFLW debut in 2028.
The centre will be built within the Kingborough Sporting Precinct and serve as the club’s primary workplace for players and staff.
It will also integrate with several community clubs and the Tasmania JackJumpers basketball team as a cornerstone facility in the precinct.
The club said they expect a phased development approach will ensure the centre is operational before the 2028 season begins, and exact timeframes will be clearer once tender submissions are received.

General Manager Infrastructure and Commercial Development Michael Thorn said the tender release marked a significant milestone.
“After hard work from many parties, we are now ready to take the next step and cannot wait to appoint a partner and get construction underway,” he said.

Thorn said the Tasmanian Government, AFL, Kingborough Council and community club partners had been supportive in reaching the tender stage.
“All these parties have played a huge role in getting to this point and we look forward to working alongside them in the next important phase,” he said.
The facility will serve multiple purposes beyond elite training, including community and education engagement programs.
“This development is of the utmost importance to our club,” Thorn said.

“It will be the physical representation of our culture and standards and will be a place that our staff and athletes, partners and community can be proud of.”
