The Tasmania JackJumpers have announced long-standing CEO Christine Finnegan will leave the basketball club at the end of the 2025/26 NBL season.
Finnegan, who has been with the JackJumpers since their inception into the National Basketball League in 2020, will return to her hometown of Melbourne after completing what will be a five-year tenure with the Tasmanian club.
She is set to take up a senior executive position with Netball Australia.
Club chair Steve Old praised Finnegan’s leadership and impact during her time with the organisation.

“Through Christine’s leadership, which has always put people and the Tasmanian community at the forefront of decision-making, the JackJumpers cemented their reputation as one of the most competitive teams in the NBL,” Old said.
“Christine’s warmth and energy have been instrumental in building a strong connection with the fan-base and the Tasmanian public.”

Under Finnegan’s guidance, the club has experienced significant growth both on and off the court, including securing Tasmania’s WNBL licence for the Tasmania Jewels.
Reflecting on her time with the club, Finnegan described her role as “an incredible privilege” and a highlight of her 25-year career in professional sport.
“I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together – our on-court success, our growth as a club and the deep connection we’ve built with the Tasmanian community,” she said.
“I know I will leave the club in a very strong position and having secured the license for our WNBL team, the Tasmania Jewels, there is such a wealth of opportunity to grow the game.”

Finnegan will remain in her current position until the conclusion of the 2025/26 NBL season, with the club soon to begin an expression of interest process to find her replacement.
