The Tasmania JackJumpers have launched their 2025 Indigenous Round jersey.
Designed by Tasmanian Aboriginal artist Carly Grey, it celebrates the deep connection between Aboriginal people and Tasmania.
Grey, from the north-west coats coast and now based in Western Australia, was selected by the club’s Aboriginal advisory panel to create the design.
“This design tells a story of the deep, continuous connection palawa people have to Lutruwita,” she said.

“I feel incredibly honoured to represent my community through this collaboration with the JackJumpers.”
The jersey features the word Lutruwita written in maireener shells, which hold cultural significance for Aboriginal women through traditional necklace-making practices.

Nine mutton birds appear on the left side, while on the right, nine meeting places are separated by waterways. A JackJumper ant rests on the coastline.
The shorts display nine petroglyph-inspired circles, paying tribute to traditional rock carvings.
Another JackJumper ant appears on the front jersey.
The back features five yarning circles, each containing five people, representing players, coaches, staff, members and the wider community, along with Thylacine paw prints.

Club CEO Christine Finnegan praised the artwork’s cultural depth.
“Carly’s artwork beautifully captures the essence of the Indigenous Round and what it means to be truly connected to culture and community,” she said.

The JackJumpers will wear the uniform during their Indigenous Round home game on November 1 at the Launceston Silverdome.
