Tasmania has been crowned Australia’s “sexiest state” for 2025, according to a new study by adult retailer Lovehoney.

The study analysed sales data from 2024 to determine the country’s most intimate hotspots, with South Australia’s Port Pirie taking the top spot as the “sexiest city”.

Despite Tassie only claiming one postcode in the top 10, the state’s overall performance pushed it ahead of Queensland and New South Wales in the final rankings.

The small town of Port Pirie, with a population of just 7,500, reportedly purchased more adult toys and accessories per capita than any other area code in the country.

Burnie was the only Tasmanian town or city to feature in the top 10, coming in at number 10.

Other postcodes that made it into the top 10 include Airlie Beach in Queensland, Port Hedland in Western Australia, Branxton in New South Wales, Mount Isa in Queensland, Mundijong in Western Australia, Karratha in Western Australia, Mudgee in New South Wales and Whyalla in South Australia.

The study also revealed the “least sexiest” locations, with New South Wales’ Anna Bay and Victoria’s Melton and Daylesford making the not-so-hot list.
