A Southern District Tasmania Police police officer has been stood down from duty after being arrested for family violence offences overnight.
The officer will appear in court this morning charged with strangulation in relation to the alleged incident.

“As is the usual process, he will be stood down from duty,” a police spokesperson said.
“It is not appropriate to comment further at this stage.”
