Two Tasmania Police officers have added an unexpected title to their resumes – midwife.
Acting Sergeant Donaldson and First-Class Constable Walker delivered a baby girl on the side of the road near Fingal on Sunday.

The birth came while the area was under a severe weather warning, having recorded 44mm in the 12 hours to 9am.
Police said both the mother and baby are doing well and were taken to hospital after the birth.
“We’re so proud of our officers for their quick-thinking and compassionate care,” Tasmania Police said.
“A huge congratulations to the happy family on their new bundle of joy.”
